Rechargeable SUP Pump Storage: Battery, Hose and Nozzle Care

Store a rechargeable SUP pump only after the hose, adapters and exterior are clean and dry. Protect the charging port, avoid extreme heat or freezing storage, and follow the pump manual for battery charge level and recharge intervals. Good storage is less about a perfect shelf and more about preventing moisture, grit, cable strain and an unexpectedly empty battery.
Sand and water collect around valve adapters, hose threads and deflation ports. Disconnect the hose with the pump switched off, shake out loose water and wipe each part with a soft dry cloth. Do not push tools into valves or electrical ports. Leave the storage bag open until everything is dry.
The 20 PSI rechargeable SUP pump includes a hose, seven nozzle adapters and a storage bag. The 22 PSI rechargeable SUP pump lists eight adapters, a 60 cm hose, an accessory bag and a waterproof storage bag. A waterproof bag helps during transport, but sealing damp equipment inside can still trap moisture.
Coil the hose in a relaxed loop rather than folding it tightly around the pump. Keep heavy gear from pressing on the ends. Inspect the connector, gasket and hose wall for flattening or cracks before the next trip. A leak at high pressure may begin with storage damage that was easy to miss when packing up.
The 20 PSI model lists a 4000mAh battery and approximately four-hour recharge time. The 22 PSI model lists an 11.1V, 57.76Wh, 5200mAh battery with PD3.0 45W charging and an approximate 1.7-hour recharge using compatible equipment. Those are different electrical systems. Use the supplied or specified charger and do not transfer one model’s charging routine to the other.
For storage longer than a normal week between trips, consult the exact manual for recommended state of charge and recharge interval. Do not leave the pump continuously connected unless the manufacturer explicitly permits it. Stop using a battery that swells, leaks, smells unusual or becomes abnormally hot.
A vehicle in direct sun, an unheated shed or a damp boat compartment can expose the pump to severe temperature and moisture. Store it indoors where practical, away from flammable material and direct sunlight. The 22 PSI page lists an operating range of -5°C to 45°C, but an operating range is not automatically the approved charging or long-term storage range.
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Battery | Charges normally and display is stable |
| Hose | No cracks, flattening or loose fittings |
| Adapters | Correct pieces present and seals clean |
| Ports | Dry and free of sand or debris |
| Controls | Inflate, deflate and stop functions respond |
Test at low pressure on the actual board valve before travel. Pack the correct adapter with the board, then keep the remaining pieces in their pouch.
Photograph the complete kit when it is new and use the image as a packing reference. Count adapters, hose, charging cable and storage pouches after each trip. If a seal or adapter is lost, replace it with a confirmed compatible part instead of forcing the nearest-looking piece. Label the bag for its pump model so accessories from different pumps are not mixed.
No. Dry the equipment first; the bag does not remove trapped moisture.
Follow the exact manual. Lithium battery storage guidance depends on the product and storage duration.
Use charging equipment that meets the listed PD3.0 requirements and the supplied instructions.
Compare the 20 PSI pump and 22 PSI pump by their actual battery, charging and accessory specifications, then keep the selected system clean, dry and ready.
