20 PSI vs 22 PSI SUP Pumps: Which Features Matter?
Compare Bateria Power 20 PSI and 22 PSI SUP pumps by charging, portability, adapters and inflation needs. Choose by your board's required pressure.
Compare Bateria Power 20 PSI and 22 PSI SUP pumps by charging, portability, adapters and inflation needs. Choose by your board's required pressure.
Choosing a 20 PSI or 22 PSI electric SUP pump is about more than the highest pressure on the box. If your board's specified target pressure is within both pumps' range, charging method, weight, nozzle fit and the number of boards you plan to inflate may matter more.
Always use the pressure specified by the paddle board manufacturer. A pump's maximum is its capability, not an instruction to inflate every board to that value. Different inflatables can require very different pressures.
The following comparison uses the current Bateria Power product listings. Check the selected model and included accessories before ordering; quoted recharge and inflation times depend on test conditions.
| Feature | 20 PSI rechargeable pump | 22 PSI AP-793L pump |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum pressure | 20 PSI | 22 PSI |
| Listed weight | About 1.74 kg | About 1.2 kg |
| Listed battery capacity | 4,000 mAh | 5,200 mAh; 57.76Wh listed |
| Charging or power feature | 12V vehicle power support | PD3.0 45W USB-C charging |
| Listed recharge time | About 4 hours | About 1.7 hours with a compatible charger |
| Nozzle adapters | 7 included | 8 included |
| Inflation and deflation | Both supported | Both supported, separate ports |
The 22 PSI listing provides battery energy in watt-hours as well as voltage and capacity. The 20 PSI listing gives mAh without the corresponding battery voltage in the text reviewed. That means the two mAh figures alone are not enough to calculate an energy ratio or promise how many boards each will inflate.
Board volume, target pressure, ambient temperature, battery condition and required cooling periods all affect the number of inflations. If you routinely prepare several boards, ask for a model-specific test at a comparable board size and pressure.
The 20 PSI rechargeable SUP pump lists 12V vehicle power support. That can be useful when preparing equipment beside a vehicle, provided the vehicle outlet and supplied power arrangement meet the pump's instructions.
The 22 PSI rechargeable SUP pump lists 45W USB-C charging. To approach its quoted recharge time, use a compatible power-delivery charger and cable. A basic low-power USB outlet may charge much more slowly. Confirm whether a suitable wall charger is included rather than assuming a supplied USB cable includes the charger.
The 22 PSI product page quotes about 6 minutes 20 seconds from 0 to 15 PSI for a 3.35m board under test conditions. The 20 PSI page gives an approximate typical-board time without the same detailed test setup. Those descriptions are not a controlled head-to-head comparison.
Your board may have a different volume, valve or target pressure. Evaluate the pump against your own preparation needs and do not assume that two extra PSI automatically mean faster inflation at every pressure.
Keep the board out of unnecessary heat after inflation and follow its instructions about pressure checks as conditions change. A storage bag described as waterproof does not establish that the pump itself can be submerged.
Only if that pressure is appropriate under your board's instructions. Many users will select a lower target regardless of pump capability.
The listed 1.2kg weight favors the 22 PSI model for carrying, but include the hose, adapters and charging equipment when planning your kit.
No. Verify valve compatibility and the inflatable's pressure requirements. A supplied adapter assortment does not guarantee universal compatibility.
