USB-C Charging Checklist for a 22 PSI Rechargeable SUP Pump

A practical USB-C charging and trip-preparation checklist for a rechargeable electric SUP pump with a built-in battery.

To charge a rechargeable SUP pump by USB-C, use a charger and cable that support the pump’s specified Power Delivery profile, inspect the port for moisture or damage, charge on a hard ventilated surface, and verify the battery before leaving home. A USB-C plug can fit even when the charger cannot provide the requested power.

Match charger, cable and pump

The Bateria Power 22 PSI rechargeable SUP pump is listed with a 5200mAh, 11.1V / 57.76Wh battery and PD3.0 45W Type-C charging. Its approximate recharge time is 1.7 hours when used with a compatible charger. A lower-power charger may charge more slowly or may not negotiate correctly.

Use a USB-C cable rated for the required power. A cable intended only for basic phone charging can become the limiting part of the system. Check the charger label for USB-C PD output modes and use the pump documentation to confirm the required input.

Inspect before plugging in

  1. Dry the pump and move it away from the water’s edge.
  2. Look into the USB-C port for moisture, sand, bent material or corrosion.
  3. Inspect both cable ends for looseness or damaged insulation.
  4. Place the pump on a hard surface with vents unobstructed.
  5. Connect the cable without forcing or twisting the plug.

Do not charge inside a sealed wet bag or a hot vehicle. If the pump has just completed a high-pressure inflation, allow it to cool before charging. Stop if the port, cable or charger becomes unusually hot, smells burnt or repeatedly disconnects.

Read the battery indicator carefully

Digital indicators are useful but can change after the battery rests. Confirm the pump reaches the normal full-charge indication, then disconnect it according to the manual. If it shows full immediately after connecting but runs only briefly, repeat the test with a known compatible 45W PD charger and cable before assuming the battery has failed.

The pump’s Type-C port is also listed with external power output up to 45W. Treat that as a separate function. Using the pump as a power bank reduces the energy available for inflation, so do not rely on the same battery for multiple boards after charging other devices.

Plan energy for the trip

The 22 PSI pump is listed with up to 35 minutes of runtime, depending on pressure, inflatable size, temperature and operating conditions. Its published test examples use a 3.35 m board: approximately 5 minutes 10 seconds to 12 PSI and 6 minutes 20 seconds to 15 PSI. Your board may differ, and the board manufacturer’s pressure limit always takes priority.

For a smaller battery option, the 20 PSI rechargeable SUP pump is listed with a 4000mAh battery, an approximate four-hour recharge time and 12V vehicle-power support. Compare pressure, battery, charging and nozzle needs rather than choosing only by maximum PSI.

Separate charging from inflation troubleshooting

If the pump charges normally but stops during inflation, check the nozzle seal, hose routing, target pressure, ambient temperature and cooling interval. If it will not charge, test one known-good charger and cable, then inspect the port. Avoid repeatedly swapping random chargers while the pump is wet or hot.

For larger inflatables such as the 130-A inflatable fishing boat, confirm the correct valve adapter and separate tube and floor pressure limits. Pump maximum pressure is not a boat setting.

Keep the charger, cable and unused nozzle adapters in the supplied storage bag only after they are dry. Before a long drive, prevent the USB-C plug from carrying the weight of the cable, and avoid packing heavy gear on top of the pump. Charge again near departure time if the battery has been stored for an extended period.

FAQ

Will any USB-C phone charger work?

Not necessarily. The plug may fit, but the charger and cable must support the required PD output.

Can I charge the pump while it is wet?

No. Dry the pump and port thoroughly and follow the manufacturer’s charging environment instructions.

Can I inflate a board while the pump is charging?

Only if the manual explicitly allows simultaneous operation. Otherwise charge first and disconnect before inflation.
